2019

This collection was made to highlight each element, no color or element touches in these works. Each layer is created on acrylic panel and exists completely separate yet they interact when viewed front on.

Do you recall the moments that made you...The pass Do you recall the moments that made you...The passing comments. The phrases they forgot that became a part of your drive, your fear, your worth.

You let it hold your hand, your heart. Sometimes it ties a knot around your lungs and drops an anchor into your stomach. Only the waves of meditation on goodness, the pursuit of light, and grace from another can unmoor the anchor of your insignificance.

@martastaudinger and @hdcriales I delight in your company, you see me and bring such gentle understanding to my life. Thank you for your generosity and taking the time to dream with me 🥰 till next time
The grass withers and the flower fades but the wor The grass withers and the flower fades but the word of the Lord endures forever. The fact that the earth keeps renewing is as if God is always speaking. The fading grass is his voice trailing off into the distance, the flowers pushed up through the ground is him telling a new story, writing more poetry every season.

If God spoke the world into being, each bloom is a reminder that He has never stopped speaking to us. He is always near, whispering new beauties into our hearts. New hopes with each bloom. Every flower a story from the word of God. Happy Easter 🌸
I only have 2 pieces available right now, and they I only have 2 pieces available right now, and they’re big ones 😬Everything else is sold out. I’m working toward what I hope will be a larger series this summer, but am planning on dropping a few works here and there, as well as some on paper. In the meantime, here’s one of the two pieces I have in stock right now “Will You Hold Me,” 48″x72″ free U.S. domestic shipping.
Supporting other women. The lines between inspirat Supporting other women. The lines between inspiration and infringement.
I’ve had to level more copyright infringement cl I’ve had to level more copyright infringement claims than normal lately.

People selling prints of photographs of my paintings and claiming them as their own.

People directly copying my paintings (or trying to 😝) and not even bothering to change the title. Not even possessing the creativity to use different colors or movements.

What never ceases to amaze me is that these people are your friends. More often than not, they are women. They are mothers. They’re yoga instructors. They are your barista. They’re mostly women, women who otherwise I would be cheering on and encouraging to find their own painting style.

When one woman steals from another woman and pretends it’s her own work, she degrades all women. Sis, if you’re going to steal, steal from a man, women already hold so little respect in the art community it is laughable.

I’m all for inspiration. Go ahead, copy my paintings, learn technique, and materials. Try to learn how to paint. But don’t post it. Don’t try and sell it. Don’t pretend it’s yours.

I’m honored if I’m one of your inspirations, but to steal directly from me is to harm the already tragic position of all women in the arts. How do you sleep after responding to comments under my paintings and hard work on your feed, pretending the work is yours?

I’m small potatoes. Not famous enough for someone to recognize my work on your feed, you might pull it off. Just big enough that I’ll come after you. Let’s do better ladies. *sigh*
Inspired by @martastaudinger current exhibition “currency, material, radiator. A retrospective” at @homme_dc

In which one of the questions Marta explores is what is the main currency of an artist.

I often ask myself similar questions, when does process and parts of myself become a currency.

Intentionally blurry images made to frustrate, made for the process, made to convey a sense of incomplete works in progress - both me and my works. Everything here is already sold.

Thanks for the food for practice Marta 🖤
