ASMR art studio sounds this week My favorite is ASMR art studio sounds this week

My favorite is the last one, the frogs and the crickets while I’m varnishing. Mmmm delightful
Dumb things I do as a full time artist whose force Dumb things I do as a full time artist whose forced to make “content”
- Film all the time so I can figure out how to use it later
- Somehow I always notice spelling and grammar errors only after I post. Lame.
- Write my own content and refuse to use AI
- Constantly ask myself how does this color or stroke fit into the story of the collection I’m working on.
- Keep a million little containers of mixed paint around so I can save it for later
- Check the price of gold and cry about it when I have to buy more gold leaf.
- Feel guilty and stupid for continuing to make art when every day the news makes me want to quit and hide in a hole.
My two year old will walk right up to you, tilt he My two year old will walk right up to you, tilt her head to the side, nod her head with a smirk and say, “how we doin?”

The titles of all these paintings are things my daughter says. Her silly little phrases I never want to forget. If you’re a parent you’ll under how the day the sweetest and funniest things.

This is the second collection I’ve done where the titles of the paintings were the words of loved ones. I also did this is my 2018 collection “The Divide” where all the titles of paintings were phrases from my loved ones who had passed suddenly.

It’s a tradition now to name works the things people say. This time from my effervescent toddler.

“How We Doin” is 48x60 mixed media on canvas and is available for sale. Dm to inquire about this painting. Repost it if you think it’s pretty.
I’ve lost almost 5,000 followers since having chil I’ve lost almost 5,000 followers since having children in the last 2 years and I’m still giving you permission to be multidimensional.

So often we categorize people into boxes - especially online.
“Kate the lawyer”
“Jess the doctor”
“Dan the musician”
I know why we do it. It’s to remember who people are. But I also think that there are a lot of people who only want to see one thing from us. “Christine the artist”

I understand. Many people don’t have children, don’t want them, and probably assumed that when I had children I would simply become “Christine the mother.” This was a huge fear of mine and one of the reasons I didn’t want children for so long. I didn’t want people to see me as a mother first.

I am a mother but I’m more than that. I run an art studio. I’ve maintained collectors, delivered commissions on time and expanded my narrative voice all while having children.

I’ve helped manage dozens of home renovation projects with my husband. I’ve navigated the American medical system having children and trying to care for my body postpartum.

I have lost 5,000 people who only wanted to see one thing from me. “Christine the artist.”

But the internet friends that I admire the most are the ones I see doing human/ multidimensional living. The interior designers who show me their multimillion dollar client renovations and their daughter’s ballet performance that night.

Being multidimensional doesn’t make you less focused. It expands your view of life. I can review a commission contract while breastfeeding. I can get a few layers in on a painting during my children’s nap. I can have a client call then jump on the trampoline with my toddler.

You can be multidimensional too and I am here for it.

Watch me loose 100 followers with this post lol #artistatwork
