There Will Be More Music, 12″x12″

“There Will Be More Heat,” 18″x18″ this piece was inspired by the feeling that summer 2020 felt stolen from us. With plans, trips, and social activities canceled, much of the play in summer was curtailed. “There Will Be More Heat” is tangentially a nod to the West Coast wildfires in terms of palette and name. With smoky, burning skies, summer has come to a smoldering end.

“There Will Be More Music” is my own personal lament over live music going away. Pre-covid, I attended concerts regularly, usually between three and five concerts a year. I did not anticipate how much the loss of live music would affect my work and my life.
