Most women I know try to make life more beautiful. Your lights inspire me. Here’s my life lately.

After running into an acquaintance who exclaimed,

After running into an acquaintance who exclaimed, “OH MY GOSH I DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE PREGNANT” to which I responded. “What would make you think that?”

I thought I should make it more obvious so I don’t scare anyone else. I am 6 months pregnant with a boy. (help)

Other things going on in life -

This spring has been big for licensing with my art prints ending up in buildings all over the world including some new hotels. These are fun for me because randomly get a text or message from a friend or someone from high school saying, “is this your art in my hotel in San Francisco?” Or NYC, or Sydney etc… and it always brightens my day.

I’ve been experimenting with new materials and playing still while taking commissions.

My work has been mostly been play and escapism since my father’s passing and pregnancy in November. I don’t know what will emerge but I’m not pushing it, I am instead riding the ebbs and flows of life and work. ✌️

Our year long home renovation project is hoping coming to a close within the next month. Renovation burnout is real.

Mothering a toddler is wild and exciting baby girl is the sweetest and going to be a great big sister.

I’ve been loving the warmer weather, the green and the flowers outside, but my allergies have not.

Current fixations: lemon bars, virgin margaritas, flossing my teeth, audiobooks, Alone, my pregnancy pillow.

Mixed media on canvas. What I love most about this painting is even though it’s dark it is covered in iron oxide making the whole piece sparkle in every light.

I started this piece when my dad died. November was one of the hardest months of my life for a myriad of reasons. But here we are plugging away spinning around on this wild rock.

My dad loved Creedence Clearwater Revival and I’ve been listening to them a lot the last couple of months.

✨2024 was the year of Big Things. I don’t ch

✨2024 was the year of Big Things.

I don’t choose a word for each year - but in hindsight I’d say 2024 was a big year.

I started the year by becoming a mother in early January. I can’t believe my babe is almost 1.

My husband and I renovated our primary bathroom, replaced all of the windows in our house, all of the siding and the roof. We are still in the midst of interior renovations but I’m thankful the outside is done.

I gained about 70 pounds in my pregnancy and lost about 60 this year.

I worked on paintings, commissions, and passion projects. I met new collectors and art friends. I released a series on motherhood and painted with my baby on my back, chest and lap.

I ran, I read, I cooked. I took my baby to the beach. I took her to the White House. I exclusively breastfed for her first 6 months. I watched her learn to walk and smile and communicate. I watched her sleep.

I lost my dad. A week after losing him I found out I’m pregnant with my second child. I held grief and anticipation in both hands. I let the pain of the past and imagination of the future exist in me simultaneously. I let myself weep because I wasn’t ready for the death or the new life.

I’m going into 2025 growing. Growing inside and out. Making art at my pace. Mostly trying to spend time with people. Cheers to you. May 2025 bring you blessings and peace. ✌️
